About Artist: Joy Wolf discovered her passion for painting and photography around the age of five when she first experimented with a Brownie camera, soon followed by finger painting. In 1980, she launched her award-winning career in photojournalism with The Associated Press, later working as a staff photographer for multiple American newspapers before transitioning to freelance work. Her photography has appeared in major national and international publications such as TIME, Newsweek, The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post Magazine, and Paris Match. Recognized for her outstanding contributions to the field, she has earned numerous accolades, including two Pulitzer Prize nominations, the Kodak Epcot Award, and honors from the National Press Photographer's Association's Pictures of the Year competitions. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, with pieces housed in permanent collections at institutions such as the Center for Creative Photography, The Denver Art Museum, and The Arken Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen. In addition to photography, Wolf has worked as a painter across five continents but considers California her home. She has also contributed to six books, including A Day in the Life of America, A Day in the Life of Japan, and Bayan Ko: Images from the Philippine Revolt. Transitioning to broadcast journalism in the early 1990s, she became a segment and field producer for ABC News, working on 20/20, Good Morning America, World News Tonight, and Nightline. Wolf studied at The Art Institute of Chicago, earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and English from the University of Arizona, and continues to refine her craft at The Art Students League of New York.
